Nigerian singer and songwriter Yemi Alade has revealed that her hit song "Johnny" was a leaked song that later became a massive hit.
In a recent interview, Yemi Alade revealed that her hit song "Johnny" was leaked and it was never released officially. She stated that it couldn't have been released but God used those around her for her good.
Yemi Alade recalled that she used to do shows around Nigeria at the time she released her song "Birthday Song". She had no sponsor then and she was on a tight budget. She connected with a producer in Enugu called Selebobo and recorded "Johnny". They felt it was a great song but there was no intention to release it. After recording, she left for Lagos. On getting to Lagos, she found out the song had been leaked.
Yemi Alade said she doesn't know who leaked the song to date but she knows the fellow isn't from her team. She was furious about what happened and went to take a nap. After waking up, she realized the song had already gone viral and it was creating a buzz online.
