The meeting with Erik ten Hag came a day after Sir Jim Ratcliffe joined Manchester United fans at Old Trafford for the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

The INEOS chief and his contingent have been spotted at Old Trafford in Man United's last two games to send clear signals they are ready to put in the work to transform the club.

A club spokesman confirmed: “It’s no secret that Sir Jim and Sir Dave have been in town for a couple of days.

“On this occasions they were at the training ground and it was all about getting to know you.

“Sir Jim also met the staff as well as the women’s team and the whole outcome was very positive.”

Manchester United are struggling in the Premier League this season. They are eighth on the table with 31 points after 20 games.

Erik ten Hag is under intense pressure amid United's dwindling fortunes. According to the The Sun, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was poised to replace the Dutch with his favorite and former Chelsea manager Graham Potter if the club's dismal run in the Premier League continues when he takes over the club's sporting operations.

Before Manchester United ratified his £1.3bn partial ownership bid for the club, Ratcliffe tore into Manchester United transfer policy and was reportedly set to evolve a new recruitment plan for the club.

Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United was on the balance with Ratcliffe's pre-takeover posturing towards Manchester United.

Now, the visit is believed to have taken off the pressure a little off the back of ten Hag as both parties iron out clear areas of cooperation to reverse the club's recent misfortunes.

Details of their discussion is undisclosed to the media but the two parties are expected to cooperate on a viable transfer policy for Manchester United going into the January transfer window.

Antony has been the face of ten Hag's transfer blunder so far. The £84.5m signing from Ajax is struggling to pick form. Casemiro - a £60m signing from Real Madrid - is on the sidelines.

Rasmus Hojlund, a £75m signing from Atalanta, is struggling to find the back of the net. Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia, including Mason Mount are all struggling with fitness issues.

In contrast, Anthony Elanga who was sold on a platter to Nottingham Forest, is breaking grounds at City Ground.

It is believed Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Erik ten Hag must work together to reverse such losses and streamline the club's transfer policy for optimal results.
