Arsenal made a significant investment of over £250million to bring in Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya last summer.

Edu Gaspar's efforts in the transfer market have bolstered the team's ambition to win the Premier League title this season having lost the chance to Manchester City last season.

However, north London's club performance seems to be dropping as they only won one of their last five Premier League matches.

Currently, Arsenal have slipped from the top spot on Christmas day to fourth place after consecutive losses in the league.

As the Gunners strive for another serious Premier League title challenge, Mikel Arteta is counting on his recent signings to make a significant impact during the final stretch.

The Gunners boss is seeking new energy and believes that new faces could be the solution, but he has also indicated that the club must prioritize selling before making any further financial investments this month.

In this article, we have highlighted six Arsenal players that are likely to leave Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.

1. Cedric Soares

The 32-year-old Portuguese full-back has been considered unnecessary at the club and spent the end of last season on loan at Fulham.

Arteta has praised Cedric's influence in the dressing room and at training, but he has only played for 65 minutes this season.

His contract ends in the summer, and the club are unlikely to extend it after initially signing him on loan in January 2020 from Southampton.

Besiktas and Trabzonspor are reportedly interested in signing him on a loan with an obligation to buy.

2. Eddie Nketiah

The England striker's future seemed promising when he signed a long-term deal at Arsenal in the summer of 2022, wearing Thierry Henry's No.14 shirt.

Despite an impressive goal-scoring record, mainly as a substitute, Nketiah has yet to convince Arteta that he can lead the team for a full season.

Crystal Palace are interested in the 24-year-old, but Arsenal will only consider a significant offer as his contract runs until 2027.

3. Emile Smith Rowe

In the early days of Arteta’s tenure, he played a vital role in boosting the team's performance by contributing goals and assists.

His playing time has been reduced due to injury, and it was surprising to see Rowe as an unused substitute while Arsenal pushed for an equalizer against Fulham.

Even though he made 51 Premier League appearances in three seasons after signing a new contract in July 2021, he has only started one Premier League game in the past two seasons.

While he is a player fans love, Arteta might view this as an opportune time to sell him with the potential to succeed in the league.

4. Jakub Kiwior

The Polish defender cost Arsenal £20m when he was bought from Italian club Spezia just last January.

However, he is already facing a challenge to remain in North London.

Jakub Kiwior has not made a good impression this season and was substituted at half-time during the Fulham match after struggling in an unfamiliar left-back position, marking only his eighth appearance in the Premier League this season.

He is likely to have his name among the players Arteta will be willing to sell during the January transfer window.

5. Aaron Ramsdale

The player most likely to be eyeing the exit door is Arsenal's No.1 goalkeeper Ramsdale.

He was displaced as No1 by the arrival of David Raya and has only made five Premier League appearances this season.

Ramsdale was bought for £30m from Sheffield United in 2021 and despite his contract running until 2027, he is likely to join either Chelsea or Newcastle as they are monitoring his situation due to their goalkeepers' injuries.

6. Reiss Nelson

Nelson is regarded as a loyal player of Arteta and has been on the fringes of the starting XI for a while.

The problem is that the 24-year-old player is trying to compete for a spot in a crowded position occupied by Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard.

His exit from Emirate Stadium could be negotiated to grant him adequate playing time elsewhere.
