Soldier laments over inability to afford expensive T-fare to visit his family
A Nigerian soldier was seen lamenting over his inability to afford the transport fare to go visit his family. He said he had been in the bush and hadn't seen his family in a while. After his leave was granted, he was paid his monthly salary of N50,000 and packed his bags to leave for home. Upon arriving at the motor park, he learned that the total amount that would transport him to his house was N35,000. He did a quick calculation and saw that he would need a total of N70,000 to and fro the journey and he has just N50,000.
The soldier said he was left with no choice but to return to where he came from. Hence, postponing his plans to spend some time with his family. Nigerians are saddened by his story and wonder why soldiers who protect the country with their lives are paid N50,000. While some sympathized with the soldier, others felt the story was a lie because there was no way a soldier would be paid N50,000 per month.
