Suspected Gunmen kidnap 6 farmers in Osun State.
Some suspected gunmen have kidnapped 6 farmers in Osun State recently. These gunmen abducted these farmers while they were returning from the farm.
This incident occurred in Oyan, in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State. The victims were coming back from their farm in Aworo village on their way to Oyan Town when they got abducted.
This happened on Monday, August 21 2023 around 5.30 pm. However, out of those 6 people who were abducted, one person has been able to escape. The person has been identified as a female chief in Oyan community.
she had also been among those who were abducted but was able to escape yesterday, Tuesday Morning. This was around 2am yesterday when she made her escape.
Yesterday, some hunters, Security men and police officers alongside some volunteers had raided the Bush around the area where they were abducted.
Kehinde Adeleke who is the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state has confirmed the incident. He also revealed that a search and rescue operation has commenced so as to liable the other kidnapped victims.
He revealed that the victims had been kidnapped at gunpoint.
He also said “But a female chief among them managed to escape around 2am on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Five others are still in the kidnappers’ custody. Security agencies and local hunters in the community and its environs have been deployed for search and rescue mission.”
