Tenant beat up landlady over her demand for payment of electricity bill


A tenant reportedly beat up his landlady over her demand for payment of his electricity bill.

The officers of the Lagos State Police Command jave arrested this man named Usman Hammer.

They have also arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ogudu.

This was for the assault of his landlady, who has been identified as Josephine Durodola.
The incident took place at her place of residence located at No 25, Olaniyi Street, Agiliti, Mile 12, Lagos

They arraigned this man on Thursday, May 11, 2022 for assault.

Inspector Donjor Perezi, who is the prosecutor, revealed to the court that the defendant had committed the crime on the 8th of April, 2023. This was around 9pm that day.

The landlady had requested money for payment of his electricity bill when the defendant attacked her.

He hit the woman's head on the iron gate and this led to her being hospitalized.

This man pleaded not guilty to the charges that were brought against him.
They have granted him bail which is a sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.


They also adjourned the case till the 16th of May, 2023.
