Ahead of the Super Eagles' first match in the 2023 African Cup of Nations against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, 2024, in Ivory Coast, the Nigeria Stars have been assigned a squad number.

Long-serving Super Eagles attacker Ahmed Musa got his favourite number 7. The winger's addition to the Super Eagles' 25-man list sparked controversy, but his leadership ability will help the squad in the long run.

Alhassan Yusuf, the Royal Antwerp midfielder who is replacing the injured Wilfred Ndidi, will wear number 4 for the Super Eagles.

The Kano-born midfielder is likely to make his first senior debut against Equatorial Guinea.
