Arsenal legend Thierry Henry revealed that the major reason Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool was to take care of himself.

Klopp shocked the world after he announced he would step down as manager of Liverpool after nine years of exceptional success.

The German manager made the decision after he revealed he was running out of energy and didn't want to continue dealing with the immense pressure that comes upon managers every season.

Thierry Henry insisted that Jurgen Klopp made the right decision, as he needs to regain sanity and catch up with his family in Germany for at least a year.

The Arsenal all-time highest goal scorer believes that Jurgen Klopp's announcement tells more about how demanding elite football really is.

Henry likened Jurgen Klopp's exit from Liverpool with Pep Guardiola, who took a year off in 2012 after managing Barcelona and proceeded to join German Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich.

During Henry's pundit duty at CBS Sport, the retired France international said, "Good for you. Pep was in Barcelona and took a sabbatical year. Klopp is in Liverpool and is stopping. Xavi is in Barcelona; he is also stopping. Three great clubs."

“That’s a dream job normally, and they are stopping. That tells you a story. The pressure is that everybody has a voice, social media, and what not."

He added: "It is tough to be a manager, and no one cares about you. You’re going to have to take care of yourself at some point."

“I understand that it’s very nice for fans and everybody involved, journalists, but do not think only about yourself and think that the Premier League will miss Klopp and that Liverpool will miss Klopp."

Since taking over in 2015, the manager has won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

In addition, the manager will be looking forward to securing more silverware at the end of the season.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League; they are in the finals of the Carabao Cup; and they are in the other two tournaments (the FA Cup and the Europa League), which are all titles the English side have a very high chance of winning.

However, the Liverpool fans are concerned about the club going back to the doom days where they struggled to compete at the top and failed to win a tangible title, in post-Klopp's era.

Liverpool will find a better replacement to continue bringing success to the Reds in the coming years.

Who Is Likely to Replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool?

Xabi Alonso had been tipped to succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of this season. However, the Bayer Leverkusen manager is likely to stay for another season with the current leader of the German Bundesliga.
