Popular Nigerian musician, Timi Dakolo, has chastised the All Progressives Congress (APC) for utilizing one of his songs during their national convention in Abuja on Tuesday without first seeking his permission.

On Tuesday, members of the Nigerian entertainment industry gathered on stage under the auspices of Ambassadors of Voice for Change to lend their voice to the demand for peace and unity in the country, and Timi Dakolo's hit song, "Great Nation," was played at the APC presidential primaries.

Watch the moment his song was played:

The ruling party invited the group, which included experienced performers like Zack Orji, Gentle Giant, and others, to join the demand for Nigerian unity.

On Wednesday morning, Dakolo turned to Twitter to say that he had not been consulted before his music was used at the event.

The same song was performed during Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's declaration to run for president in 2023.

"Why use an artist's song at a rally or campaign without their permission?" In this country called Nigeria, people get away with a lot of things. He tweeted, "Actually, this is the second time."

He further explained how dissapointed he is towards such step taken.
