Tinubu sacks service chiefs, dissolves the boards of MDAs

Nigerian president Bola Tinubu has sacked some service Chiefs, advisers and others yesterday.

He also went ahead to dissolve the boards of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs etc.

There had been a total wipe put in the Ministry sector anf also security sector as the new president sacked many people.

Alongside the advisers and services Chiefs, he also sacked the Comptroller-General of Customs.

He also replaced some top military commanders and this came as a shock to many.

The President had done this just shortly before taking off from Nigeria to France for the Paris summit. He was set to take off this morning to join other world leaders in Paris.
This is his first foreign trip as elected head of state.

A statement which was released on behalf of Mr Willie Bassey who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), he said Tinubu had approved of the immediate retirement of all these people.

He also approved of their replacement which must take immediate effect.

Some of the people who were affected by this change include the Chief of defense staff, General Lucky Irabor; Gen Farouk Yahaya who is the Chief of Army Staff, Usman Alkali Baba the Inspector-General of Police, vice Admiral Awwal Gambo who is the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao.

Some of the newly appointed service Chiefs include lMaj. Gen. C.G Musa who is now the Chief of Defence Staff, lMaj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye the Chief of Defence Intelligence, lAVM H.B Abubakar the Chief of Air Staff, lMallam Nuhu Ribadu the National Security Adviser and lDIG Kayode Egbetokun who is the Acting Inspector-General of Police.

It was revealed by some sources that this change came as a result of the serious levels of insecurity in the country which made the president disturbed and eager to end it all.
