The President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu is set to travel out of Nigeria today to take part in the Paris summit which will be holding in Paris, France.

The President will be joining some other world leaders in Paris. The summit will take place on Thursday in France. After the summit he will return to Nigeria on Saturday

He will be reviewing and then signing a new global financial pact. This pact places vulnerable countries on priority lists for support and investment. This is coming after the serious impact resulting from climate change, energy crisis, and after effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was Dele Alake who is the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, that revealed this information to the public yesterday.

He revealed that President Tinubu will be participating in the two-day summit which is set to hold from the 22nd of June to the 23rd of June. He says this is to look at opportunities to restore fiscal space to countries that are facing difficult short-term financial challenges especially in terms of debt.

He said that this summit is also a way to mobilize innovative financing for those countries that are vulnerable to climate change. It will also help to foster development in low-income countries, as well as encourage investment in “green” infrastructure for the energy transition.

It is the president of France who will be hosting this summit, President Emmanuel Macron. It will be held at Palais Brongniart.
