The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has initiated an investigation into Super Micro Computer, a leading AI server manufacturer, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal. This development follows recent allegations by short-seller Hindenburg Research, which accused Super Micro of engaging in "accounting manipulation," involvement in undisclosed related-party transactions, and failure to comply with export controls.

Super Micro had previously refuted Hindenburg's claims, dismissing the report as containing "false or inaccurate statements." However, news of the DOJ probe sent the company's shares plummeting by 13.38%, with the stock now trading at $397.33. Despite the gravity of the situation, Super Micro has yet to issue an official response to requests for comment.

The investigation has cast a shadow over Super Micro’s operations, with the company now facing heightened scrutiny in both financial and regulatory circles. Investors are closely watching for further developments.
