The President of the European football ruling body, UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, has revealed that the Champions League final won't take place in Saudi Arabia.

During his statement in the latest interview at the Spobis Sport Business Congress in Hamburg, he said, "Not during my term, but I won't be here forever."

Recently, the Italian and Spanish Super Cup finals were played in Saudi Arabia.

In addition, Ceferin also believed that the Saudi Arabia Pro League was not a danger to European football in terms of tempting their players away with huge funds.

He said, "If you mainly buy players who can no longer play in Europe and overpay them, are you developing your young players?"

"European fans do two things: they follow their team and their national team. And they follow competitions. They don't follow the players."

Saudi Arabia have invested a lot in football, and in the future, they are expected to increase their relevance in the sport.

In 2023, the Saudi Arabia Pro League was able to attract a number of world-class players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema at exorbitant prices.

The 2034 FIFA World Cup is set to take place in Saudi Arabia. In other sports, the Middle East countries are also expected to host Formula One.

Ceferin is expected to stay as UEFA President until 2031

It was revealed that the President of the European football governing body, UEFA, is looking forward to passing a controversial amendment that will see Ceferin remain as the President of UEFA until 2031.

The proposed amendment will limit the tenure of the executive to three terms.With this controversial amendment, there is likely to be a civil war among the executives of the body.

There is going to be a vote for and against the proposed amendment in Paris on February 1, 2024.

If the amendment gets over 45 votes from people in support of it, that means Ceferin is totally in control.

If the members against the amendment can get 10 votes, it means he is gradually losing control as the President of the UEFA.

Some football figures and even European officials had criticized the proposed amendment, claiming it was not the best example of good governance they had been clamoring for.

The President was born on October 13, 1967, in the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is currently 56 years old, with a height of 5 feet and 9 inches.

On September 14, 2016, Ceferin was made the seventh President of UEFA. He automatically became the Vice President of FIFA after his appointment in 2016.
