Recall that the Ugandan parliament passed an anti-gay bill into law weeks ago and outrightly declared that they will not condone any activities related to the LGBTQ+ movement anywhere in the country.

This law, which carries a death penalty, has been condemned by a number of countries who are of the opinion that it is a human rights violation. The USA also reacted by placing visa restrictions on all Ugandan officials.

The US State Department updated their travel guidance with names of Ugandan officials who will be hit with the visa restrictions, also stating that it will hold accountable those who are responsible for abusing the rights of citizens in Uganda, especially queer people.

Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni has reacted to the sanctions placed by the US saying, "We have been disappointed for a long time by the conduct of the West. The way you conduct yourself is there but we just keep quiet. We just see how you do things, the families and how they're organized and all these things. We keep quiet.

We never commend because it is not our country. Maybe you like it, since there is now an attempt at social imperialism to impose the social values of one group on our society.

Then our disappointment is now exacerbated because we are sorry to see that you live the way you live but we keep quiet about it. Now you say you must also live like us. That's when we say no. Am I worried? Not at all. Worried about what? Because to tango, we need two people to dance.

If the ones didn't want to work with us because of homosexuals, then we have enough space here to live with ourselves and do business with other people"

This is madness, America need to mind their business. Why are they so hung on this LGBTQ nonsense? There are other issues in the world that they could focus on.
