Do you know that saying sorry in the United Kingdom could land you in trouble? Here is the story of a UK-based Nigerian lady who confirmed the aforementioned claim. This lady said she bought a facial product from a shop in the UK. Upon getting home, she realized that she had two of those items at home which led her to return the one she bought to the shop. When she got there, she explained to the manager, and the product was collected from her.

However, the Nigerian in her made her feel guilty for returning a product she had previously paid for and made her say sorry. She said to the manager, "I am so sorry for any inconvenience." The manager paused and responded, "Are you sure you haven't used this product? Why are you sorry if you haven't used it?"

That was the moment she realized that she had made a mistake. In Nigeria, apologizing has become second nature to us and we don't see it as a big deal. In other parts of the world like the UK, apologizing is not something they do well.
