Undergraduate student killed by Lover in Lagos State
An undergraduate student has been killed by her lover in Lagos State recently. This student was a 21 year old student of the Lead University, located in Ibadan, Oyo State.
She has been identified as Augusta Osedion. The suspect who is her lover has also been identified as Benjamin.
This incident occurred in Oral Estate, Ikota, Ajah, in Lagos State. Reports stated that the duo had a quarrel and this led to a fight. In the process of this fight, the suspect stabbed the victim to death.
On the 11th of July, this lady had called her mother saying she had an argument with her boyfriend and had been unable to reconcile them back to each other.
The mother had been making efforts to bring them back together and was trying to reach the boyfriend on the phone but it wasn't going through.
She then reached out to daughter’s roommate, and it was the roommate who led her to the boyfriend’s house in Ajah.
When she got there, she saw her daughter's Mercedes Benz C30 parked in front of the building. She noticed that the apartment was locked.
Some detectives then went to the scene and were able to forcefully open the door. It was then they saw the lifeless body of the lady there.
It was the spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed this news.
He said they met the daughter's body there covered in a pool of her own blood.
Her female genitals had also been chopped off from the body. He discovered some marks and signs of struggle on her body.
They have taken the body to the General Hospital mortuary in Yaba, for autopsy.
The police also recovered a note which was left behind by the suspect at the scene.
The suspect has also been reported to have confessed to this crime via his Instagram yesterday, Monday.
He apologized saying he was truly sorry for what he did. He says it wasn't intentional and they had gotten into a fight and argument. He says he would rather not say what the argument was about.
He says that it was hw lady who carried a knife and one thing led to the other and he stabbed her.
He says he ran out of fear because he had disabled someone and didn't know what to do.
He revealed that he will give himself up and tell the truth.
He says he has contacted the mother of the victim and he knows that he also deserves to die. He says he holds himself accountable.
