Update: NAF officials to be charged to court over NAF/EFCC clash

A recent clash occured between the EFCC and some NAF officials on Friday, November 17 2023. The incident had occured after the EFCC arrested some fraudsters from an eatery and some NAF officers had forcefully attempted to release them. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Air Force had been the ones involved.
A statement had been released by the EFCC spokesman who is Dele Oyewale that Friday after the incident and he narrated how it happened. He revealed this via their twitter account. A new update has now been given compering the clash last week.

Recall the NAF officials who attempted to release the fraudsters forcefully were also arrested by the EFCC and they were released on administrative bail. These officers are now being charged to court. They will be charged to court as soon as the investigation into the case has been completed.
It is also Mr Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC who dropped his update/statement on the EFCC twitter account. According to the EFCC, no one is above the law and they are proving this to the world.

The statement reads

"Update on Released NAF Officers by the EFCC
The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, personnel released on administrative bail by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, November 17, 2023 will be charged to court at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
The officers were released to their Service in strict adherence to the bail procedures of the Commission.
The Commission reiterates the fact that no one is above the law and the due process will be followed in bringing the case to a conclusion."
