Ejikeme Mmesoma, the alleged top scorer in the 2023 UTME, actually inflated her score to deceive the public and curry favor from people.

Her deceit was uncovered when one of the Anambra State top officials called JAMB to confirm that Mmesoma scored 362 before the state Government could honor her.

It was that call that revealed that Mmesoma isn't a top scorer. In fact, her original JAMB score was 249 but a software was used to inflate her score to 362.

Before nemesis caught up with Mmesoma, she had successfully been awarded #3m worth of scholarship from a businessman known as Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, revealed on Sunday, that the agency's attention was drawn to various media publications, celebrating some UTME candidates for their high scores.

The agency stated that the results paraded by these students have been manipulated to extort and curry favor from the unsuspecting public.

As it stands, JAMB is set to withdraw her original result from the portal. The agency would also be investigating every other candidate that has claimed to obtain a high score in the 2023 UTME.

JAMB further stated that "Once discovered, such candidates’ original results would be withdrawn forthwith and they would be handed over to relevant security agencies for prosecution."
