The Pastor in charge of the parish of the Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos State that invited Portable and Pasuma for a worship concert has finally spoken up. He recently revealed the reason behind their decision to invite Portable and Pasuma for their worship concert. Recall recently, a flier from this church had caused an uproar on social media. Netizens had critiqued the church for inviting such musicians to such an event.
It was a parish of the Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos State that was set to have the event. The pastor in charge in this parish is Aderemi Dabiri. He has revealed the reason why he invited Alabi Pasuma who is a Fuji singer and Portable who is also a Nigerian singer. They were set to hold a worship might and usually, gospel artists would be invited but this time, they invited circular artists and this raised eyebrows.
The pastor revealed that they invited these two artists because he wanted to win souls. According to him, it won't be easy to reach some people with the gospel. He feels a safer way is to catch their attention during such a concert with the invited singers. He was sharing his reason while speaking to the delegation that had come for a meeting at his parish.
He claimed it wasn't their first time doing such a thing. He says they cannot go to win souls at a place where they sell alcohol without wisdom. He claimed that its better to bring such people to the church. He also claimed that some gospel singers are rude when you try to invite them for a concert.
In his words “ We can’t go where they sell palm wine or alcoholic drinks and ask them to accept Jesus Christ. If I don’t apply wisdom, they will hit the bottle on my head. That was why I thought of a way to bring them into the church,”
