West Ham United are ready to battle Chelsea and Newcastle United to secure the acquisition of Nigeria red hot striker, Victor Boniface.

The London team are said to be prepared to break their transfer record for the signing of the 23-year-old striker.

The former Bodo/Glimt frontman has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea while Newcastle are also said to be interested in signing the inform striker.

However, West Ham United's technical director, Tim Steidten is poking for the massive deal and could make it happen before the January transfer window end.

According to reports, Steidten is striving to set up a deal with the Bay Arena based team, Leverkusen.

West Ham have the cash to spend and manager David Moyes is behind the idea of going big for a proven striker.

In the pursuit of securing Boniface, West Ham will be willing to part ways with Said Benrahma, a player who has drawn interest from several French club sides.

The Hammers could also part ways with the likes of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings in other to create space for Boniface.

Victor Boniface has engraved his name as a big hit in the German Bundesliga since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2023.

Boniface has only spent six months with the Bundesliga leader leaders but they could be prepared to sell at a big profit and then go and find a replacement.


The powerful hitman has scored ten goals so far in the German top flight and is the young and exciting type who would also keep his value.

Presently, he holds the fourth position in the Bundesliga's top scorers' list.

Boniface misses the Africa Cup of Nations with injury but should be fit soon and the lay-off is not a problem for West Ham.

The Hammers have also made a surprise inquiry for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran should Boniface's deal later collapse.
