Just eleven days after winning his first Grammy award and the first Nigerian artist to win it. That same night, Nigeria celebrated two of her own winning the Grammy awards, with Burna Boy winning the ‘World Album category’ for his ‘Twice As Tall’ album.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a U.S.-based award given to outstanding performers in the work of art. The NAACP awards is in the same category as The Grammy Awards, in terms of worldwide validation. Winners are voted for by members. The 53 years old award was first presented on August 13th, 1967.

Wizkid won his second NAACP awards, as announced by the organization's twitter handle for his feature on Brown Skin Girl.

“Congratulations to the 52nd #NAACPImageAwards winners in our Outstanding Recording categories!

@theestallion @Beyonce, @Hit_Boy, @wizkidayo, @SAINtJHN, Blue Ivy Carter & @JheneAiko

#NAACPImageAwards #OURStories #OURCulture #OURExcellence”

Nominated in the same category are, “I Can't Breathe" - H.E.R., "Anything For You" - Ledisi, "Do It" - Chloe x Halle.

Ayodeji Balogun, Wizkid, and Beyonce Knowles-Carter had won the award for ‘Outstanding duo, Group or collaboration’ at the previous edition in 2020.

Big up to Wizkid for constantly putting Nigeria music on the world map and other artists that thrive to get Nigeria sound put there.
