An Osun State woman has refused to undergo surgery to remove her goiter and asks to go home with the N300,000 donation instead.
A woman named Folakemi from Ede in Osun State has been suffering from goiter, a disease caused by iron deficiency or inflammation of the thyroid gland.
A group of doctors at a hospital found her and decided to operate her for free after some individuals raised money on her behalf. Surprisingly, Mrs Folakemi turned down the once in a lifetime offer and asked them to give her the N300,000 instead.
She said she is in dire need of the money and she prefers to live with the goiter than remove it and stay penniless. The people tried convincing her but she stood her ground. Eventually, she was given the money and she went back home happily.
