Certain Nigerians on the X platform have begun calling out the Afrobeats singer Davido for inventing a coin named after his stage name. It was reported that a lot of people have invested in the coin since the singer announced it on his X page and he has reportedly made about $500,000.
X users advised Nigerians against ignorantly investing their hard-earned money in such ventures because Davido has had two consecutive fails at promoting fraudulent brands. The singer allegedly promoted the famous Ponzi scheme, RackSterli which extorted billions from Nigerians. He also promoted RapDoge, a cryptocurrency that thousands of miners didn't gain from.
Therefore, X influencers advise Nigerians against blindly investing in the $Davido coin without due investigation. And anyone who invests does so at his or her own risk.
