are people really shorting stocks in the Nigerian stock exchange? The market goes down a lot so that's a sure way to make money then.
Technically, that's what it means. You can borrow stock, sell it and buy it back at a later date and pocket the difference. Assuming the price drops.

Seems like you are very knowledgeable about this, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have only tried to short-sell stocks on the United States Stock market, not on the Nigerian stock exchange, but I will try it with a some change and see how the goes. I like to test drive investments.
